To support the growing demand for our full paint solutions, a £1.5m investment plan has been put into place to increase capacity and broaden our finishing capabilities. Two semi-automated paint lines are now fully operational at our new manufacturing facilities at ‘Voyager Park’, providing solutions that deliver higher productivity and enhanced performance.
The new paint facility incorporates ‘state of the art’ technology to provide the highest quality finishing. Underfloor conveyor systems with fully extracted and balanced floors are incorporated within the multi-chamber spray booths, which house designated preparation, cleaning, paint and drying areas and integrated baking ovens.

With our wealth of expertise for painting surface moulded components, we specialise in small and medium batch runs with the flexibility to use various paint systems to the exact customer specification. The expanded facility allows even greater operational flexibility to paint bespoke and short-run special projects. We work with Europe’s leading paint suppliers to offer either a primed finish or a high gloss colour finish. Our new paint facilities are supported by a further six climate controlled spray booths/drying ovens which are integrated alongside other manufacturing facilities to ensure the highest quality and rapid turnaround.
As one of Europe’s leading suppliers of lightweight engineered solutions, moulded components can be supplied as individual items or as complete assemblies and where required, painted, primed or flocked. Services include the assembly of multiple component parts inclusive of bonding, mechanical fixings and welding, for small and medium batch runs for interior and exterior body parts such as engine bay components and cosmetic trim parts. We also specialise in producing the highest quality flock coating using the latest technology.
Currently employing a highly skilled workforce of over 500 people, based across 4 sites on the South Coast, Formaplex now has 270,000 sq ft of manufacturing facilities. Over 600 injection mould tools and approximately 3 million thermoplastic components are being made every year, with further growth to come.
The investment in the new finishing facility will ensure we have the additional capacity to continue to provide our services and world class products to our expanding blue-chip customer base.
